There are 19 Japanese-style rooms at Asaba Ryokan as well as 4 deluxe rooms. All rooms are designed in a classic ryokan style of the highest quality. You can enjoy and relax in the room with comfortable tatami mat floor spaces with sliding paper screens, futon beds, elegant flower arrangements and calligraphic scrolls in every room. All have large windows framing haiku-inspiringly perfect views across the garden, lake and stage side. Deep wooden bathtub is available for specific rooms.
In Asaba Ryokan, shared indoor and outdoor hot spring baths are available. The indoor baths of koyamaki timber are separated into mens and ladies baths, while outdoor bath offering views of the pond and surrounding gardens.
Soothing indoor hot spring bath is also available for private rental. A family can hang a sign outside of and enjoy the “family bath” privately.
Seasonal cuisine is the highlight at Asaba Ryokan. The traditional kaiseki meal consists of a variety of beautifully presented seasonal delicacies that range from a hotpot of sea eel and matsutake mushrooms to delicate sashimi flavors, embodied in beautifully presented dishes that delight both the palate and the eyes.
All meals are served in-room, eaten while kneeling at a low table. Guests are invited to slip into cotton kimono-style yukatas before the meal is served. The whole experience accords with traditional Japanese ryokan customs, a strain of sensibilities derived from royalty.
