Chalet Ivy Jozankei , a ryokan that takes the concept of relaxation to new levels, showcases Japanese culture and hospitality in a spectacular natural setting. Situated in the lush forests of Hokkaido,

Chalet Ivy Jozankei puts Japan’s northernmost island’s onsen (hot springs) centre-stage. This is a place to breathe pure mountain air, sink into warm, mineral-rich waters, and luxuriate in Japanese hospitality.

Wherever you lay your head at Chalet Ivy Jozankei,

you’ll awake to serene views across the landscape. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows of your sleek suite, take in the splendour of the forests blanketed in soft snow in winter, or bursting with green life in summer.

Spend the morning sipping coffee as the sun rises over the treetops, and the afternoon soaking in your private onsen tub. Like the bedrooms, which seamlessly blend the traditional with the modern, ZUI restaurant fuses classic Japanese cuisine with Western touches, using exquisitely fresh local ingredients.

BRAND MIND

SLH emphasizes the concept of independence, and introduces small, independently-minded hotels with a unique, personal atmosphere for customers who want something truly different.

SLH’s unique stays and experiences, centered mainly in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, are offered to over 100,000 fully engaged members around the world. Every year, SLH receives applications from hundreds of hotels from different countries, but only 5% are accepted. Even after being accepted under the SLH brand, each of the over 520 member hotels are periodically checked by unannounced “mystery” evaluators to ensure that all its hotels live up to the high service standard of the brand. Even in Japan, just 11 hotels in the entire country have been accepted into SLH, demonstrating its top-tier brand philosophy.

In order to uphold the brand value, if an SLH member hotel fails to pass the evaluator’s inspection standards, it is ordered to improve its services, or in some cases, the hotel may even be expelled from the group completely. In offering only stays at hotels that have met these strict criteria, SLH is able to maintain its excellent brand image and garner the trust of customers from around the world.
