Sankeien is a Japanese landscape garden with a central pond, various historical buildings moved there from across the country, and several hundred cherry trees.
There is a traditional and typical Japanese-style garden designed and landscaped by Sankei Hara , a wealthy businessman in the silk trade.
In the garden, whose surface extends to 175000㎡, seventeen old buildings of high historic value are skillfully arranged in harmony with the seasonal changes of the natural scenery.
You can enjoy several events during the season as follows.
Feb. 13 to Mar. 6 : Plum blossom viewing
About 600 trees start to bloom from Feb.gradually until Mar.
The end of Mar.to the beginning of Apr. : Cherry blossom night viewing
Cherry Blossom Viewing in Evening in the full bloom season, the Garden opens until 21:00 (Last admission 20:30). You could enjoy the beautiful night view of cherry blossoms illuminated by lanterns and the Tomyoji’s three stories pagoda on the top of the hill lit up by floodlights.
