Disney Premier Access at Tokyo Disney Resort: A Practical Guide

How Disney Premier Access really works at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea—what it is, what it costs, how to buy and redeem it in the app, and how a concierge builds a smooth day around it.

Understanding Disney Premier Access

Disney Premier Access (DPA) is Tokyo Disney Resort's own optional, paid service for reserving a shorter-wait time at select high-demand attractions, or a reserved viewing spot for certain shows and parades. It is available to any guest with a valid park ticket—there is no membership or special status required.

DPA offers two things:

  • Priority attraction access: a reserved return time for a select popular attraction, with a much shorter wait.
  • Premier show viewing: a reserved location or seat for certain parades and shows.

It is purchased per guest, per attraction or show, in the official Tokyo Disney Resort App, on the day of your visit after you have entered the park. Prices typically range from ¥1,500 to ¥2,500 per person depending on the experience. Availability is limited and popular slots can sell out early, so it pays to buy early in the day.

Which Attractions Offer It

Only a rotating list of high-demand attractions and shows is eligible—not every ride. The lineup changes, so always check the app on the day for the current list rather than assuming a specific attraction is included.

How to Buy and Use It — Step by Step

Step 1: Prepare the App

  1. Download the official Tokyo Disney Resort App before you arrive.
  2. Create or log in to your account in the app.
  3. Link your group's park tickets by scanning each ticket's QR code.
  4. Make sure your phone has a stable connection and good battery (a portable charger helps).

Step 2: Purchase After Entry

Premier Access can only be bought after you enter Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea with a valid ticket. Open the app, go to the relevant menu, and select Disney Premier Access.

Step 3: Choose the Experience and Time

Browse the eligible attractions and shows, choose your experience, and select an available time slot. Sold-out slots are shown as unavailable.

Step 4: Confirm and Pay

Review the details—attraction/show, time slot, and total price—enter your card if needed, and purchase. Note that purchases are final and cannot be changed or cancelled.

Step 5: Redeem

Arrive within your reserved time, present the QR code in the app at the designated Premier Access entrance (or reserved seating check-in), and a Cast Member scans you through with minimal wait.

Key Guidelines

  • Validity: valid only for the specified date and time. Late arrivals may not be accommodated, with no refund.
  • Per guest: each guest aged 4 and over needs their own Premier Access; children 3 and under may accompany a holder subject to ride restrictions.
  • Non-refundable & non-transferable: purchases are final and linked to the purchasing ticket; they cannot be resold.
  • Park changes: if the park closes an attraction or cancels a show, you may be eligible for a refund or alternative.

Tips for a Smooth Day

  • Prioritise the one or two attractions you most want and buy their Premier Access early.
  • Coordinate with dining reservations and show times to avoid clashes.
  • Watch the weather for outdoor parades and shows.
  • Use the other free app features: Standby Pass and Entry Request (lottery) for select attractions/shows, Mobile Order for food, restaurant reservations, and live wait times and maps.
  • Stay charged—the app runs your whole day.

A Note on Disney Hotel Suites

For guests who want to extend the magic, Tokyo Disney Resort's hotels offer premium suites—at Hotel MiraCosta (the only hotel inside Tokyo DisneySea), the Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, and Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel. Certain top-tier suites are also what make a guest eligible to apply for the private Disney VIP Tour.

A few honest points worth knowing:

  • Reservation timing: Disney hotel reservations open four months before the check-in date, at 11:00 JST. Top suites are very limited and can be claimed within moments—plan around this window.
  • No FastPass: Tokyo Disney Resort no longer operates FastPass. Shorter waits today come from Disney Premier Access (above) and smart planning—not from a hotel perk.
  • Suite inclusions (lounge access, breakfast, in-room amenities) vary by hotel and room; confirm the current details on the official site when you book.

Where Japan Royal Service Helps

We are clear and honest about what we do. We do not have special access to Premier Access or the VIP Tour, and we cannot guarantee either—both are Disney services the guest books directly. What we genuinely provide:

  • Arranging your qualifying suite stay, planning around the four-month reservation window.
  • Planning the day—which attractions to prioritise, how to sequence Premier Access, dining, and show timing.
  • The wider trip—private chauffeur transfers, restaurant reservations, translation, and a seamless itinerary around your park days.

Disney provides the access and the tour; we build the stay and the journey around them.
