As you have heard that Great Buddha is a large bronze Buddha statue that is one of Japan’s most popular tourist spots. There are about a dozen cherry trees planted around the grounds including one large, well placed tree in front of the statue, in addition to a small grove of cherry trees around the entrance.
Most of the trees around the Great Buddha will bloom early April.
The right of the Daibutsu lets you beautifully combine the statue with cherry blossoms into photos!!

The bronze Amitabha Buddha statue is one of the most important buddha statues made during the Kamakura period. It maintains almost the original state and is designated a National Treasure. A small temple Kangetsudo, which stands in the temple precincts, houses a Guanyin Buddha statue which is said to be worshipped by Tokugawa Hidetada, the second shogun of the Edo period.
